COMP specializes exclusively in industrial medicine; we do this by providing honest ethical medicine practices and by constantly improving the quality of our services. We do listen to our clients and we’re very responsive to your needs.
As part of our services, providers are able to fill out any form not belonging to COMP, we are able to accommodate your needs per protocol created, please note that additional fees do apply for any forms not belonging to COMP that utilize a provider review and/or sign off.
SERVICES PROVIDED BY COMP
Physical Exams
BASIC BIOMETRIC PHYSICAL
- Review of Medical History Questionnaire to include past Occupational History.
- Vitals Statistics: Pulse, Blood Pressure, Height and Weight Measurements
- Medical examination covering the Skin, Head & Neck, Back, Eyes, Mouth & Teeth, Throat, Lungs, Abdomen and all Extremities. Neurological and Hernia examinations (male only) are included.
- Medical Opinions and recommendations are given based on the tests conducted and knowledge of position that is being applied for.
INTERMEDIATE PHYSICAL
- Review of Medical History Questionnaire to include past Occupational History.
- Vitals Statistics: Pulse, Blood Pressure, Height and Weight Measurements
- Vision Test using a Snellen Chart to screen for vision deficiencies (Near/Far-sightedness). Peripheral Vision and Color Blindness Tested using Ishara plates.
- Hearing Tests
- Complete Urine Analysis by Dipstick to include screening for commonly detected problems such as diabetes.
- Comprehensive Examination on all of the above plus all other tests covered by Basic Biometric Physical Exam.
- Medical Opinions and recommendations based on the tests conducted and knowledge of position applied for or job description (if provided).
DOT PHYSICAL
- Evaluates a driver’s medical condition to verify the candidate’s ability to safely operate a commercial vehicle, and prevent potentially unsafe drivers from operating or driving a vehicle.
- Tests are performed in conformance of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) guidelines by Certified Medical Examiners. Data is entered into the Federal Registry upon the successful completion of the examination.
Lift Tests
LIFT/CARRY FUNCTIONAL TEST
Applicant is trained to use Proper lifting techniques with specific sets of weights as determined to be appropriate for the work environment. Recommendations are given as to the ability to lift to job requirement.
LIFT PHYSICAL AGILITY TEST
Ranges of motion are evaluated and documented as to proper lifting techniques, body mechanics, and other criteria as needed.
Applicant demonstrates their ability to perform and to lift at the required criteria for the job. Recommendations are based on the ability to be able to meet lifting requirements as outlined in a job description.
DOT PHYSICAL

EDEX (BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION)
(Division of Workers’ Compensation -Electronic Data Exchange System)
Used to request electronic access of an applicant’s past litigated work comp injuries. In order to run an EDEX, it is recommended that a physical exam with a medical questionnaire be performed.
Back Evaluation
Specialized tests and examination that focus on the back to determine range of motion and muscle strength, particularly for industries or jobs that require a significant amount of physical activity, such as lifting heavy objects. Tests are conducted by our medical provider to identify possible problem areas and to reduce potential future injuries.
- In an immediate diagnosis, a provider will conduct necessary medical procedures appropriate to the type of injury being treated such as fracture splitting, foreign body removal, etc.
- Medical determination given as to causation of the injury (AOE/COE) Issues.
- Medical documentation (PR-2 and Work Status) is immediately available to employer via electronic communication or Wiims.
- X-Ray
- Digital and film x-rays performed in clinic onsite and read by Board Certified radiologist.
- Physical Therapy
- Conducted utilizing the latest peer-reviewed treatment modalities to ensure fast recovery.
AUDIOMETRY TEST

- Performed in an OSHA compliant audiometric hearing booth and calibrated audiometer, printout of results provided.
BREATH ALCOHOL TEST
Performed with Evidential Breath Testing devices that are compliant with the Department of Transportation specifications. Tests are performed by certified Breath Alcohol Technicians and done in accordance with Department of Transportation Guidelines and/or company protocols with calibrated breath alcohol testing machine.
BLOOD LEAD TEST

- For Industry exposures where lead testing is mandated.
COLLECTION (DRUG TEST)

- Collections are performed to industry standards using the Urine Specimen Collection Guidelines, as published by the US Department of Transportation. The specimen are collected by certified collectors and sent to company’s chosen laboratory.
DRUG SCREEN

- Sent to a SAMHSA approved laboratory, chosen by the clinic. This option allows for customized panels which includes the collection, processing, Medical Review Officer (MRO) review, and reporting of results.
EKG

- 12 lead with computer self-interpreting printout.(and review by primary physician).

- 5 Panel Test: Rapid analysis of 5 commonly used/abused drugs: (Cocaine, Marijuana, Opiates, Methamphetamines, Phencyclidine, PCP). Negative results are available immediately upon the completion of the testing. Tests that result in non-negative (further testing needed, FTN) are advised to be sent to the laboratory for scientific analysis using GC/MS technology and review by Medical Review Office (MRO).
- 10 Panel Test: Rapid analysis of 10 commonly used/abused drugs: (Cocaine, Marijuana, Opiates, Amphetamines, Methamphetamines, Phencyclidine, Benzodiazepine, Barbiturates, Methadone, Ecstasy) that provides instant results for negative test. Tests that result in non-negative (further testing needed, FTN) are advised to be sent to the laboratory for scientific analysis using GC/MS technology and review by Medical Review Office (MRO).
- Confirmation: Confirmations are done by a lab and reviewed by our medical review officer for any positive quick test result in order to rule out any prescriptions and to make the results legally defensible if confirmed to be positive by the laboratory.
RETURN TO WORK PHYSICAL

- Physical examination done after an employee has been off work for a period that is specified by company policy. All medical records are reviewed and a medical opinion is given as to the ability of an employee to return to work after being off due to a non-work related injury or illness.
FITNESS FOR DUTY
Whenever the ability to perform specific job tasks come into question, a physical examination can be performed to determine if an employee is currently able to perform to the expectations of a job description. This examination is tailored to the specific tasks of the employee that are in question and makes a determination as to whether or not the employee is capable of continuing in their present position.
DRUG TESTING
- Drug Testing performed to industry standards performed on site. Testing includes preparation of restroom to meet appropriate collection guidelines; Testing type can vary based on company protocol. The tests are done by trained and certified personnel.
ALCOHOL TEST
- Calibrated, portable breath alcohol testing machine brought to work site. Test is performed by certified and trained personnel.
PULMONARY
- Calibrated Spirometry test with computer analysis and full result printout for provider review (as needed).
RESPIRATORY FIT TEST
- Respiratory Questionnaire, Qualitative fitting of masks as brought by patient or provided in clinic in order to check for proper seal, function, use, and maintenance.
WORKSITE COVID TESTING
- We now offer COVID testing at your facility. With a minimum of 10 employees to be tested, pre-arrangement is required.

TRANSPORTATION FOR PATIENTS
Free Transportation For Initial Injury
Injured employee will be transported to the clinic and returned to pick up location at no charge for the initial visit in a commercially insured vehicle 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Additional transportation beyond the first visit will be arranged at a nominal cost as per regularly updated rate chart.
Regular Transportation
For non-initial injury visits employee will be transported to the clinic and returned to pick up location in a commercially insured vehicle.
